Annual Dinner

Newcastle Civic Centre is a local government building located in the Haymarket area of Newcastle.  The banqueting hall is the perfect location for our annual dinner and provides a very comfortable environment.

The 84th reunion NESCOE dinner will take place 8th April 2025.  Invitations go out in late 2024 to individuals and corporate contacts.  

The committee meet periodically throughout the year to organise the event.

Membership now extends with members not only from the electricity industry itself but also from other organisations, consultants and advisers who have held long associations with it. 

It was founded at a time when the cost of the inaugural banquet in a first-class London hotel was eight shillings and sixpence in April 25, 1932. In the chair for the evening was Lt Col William McLellan, one of the founding partners of the Newcastle consulting engineers Merz and McLellan. 

The association has well over 300 members and the dinner in recent years has been as large as 400 members and their guests.   The dinner provides an excellent networking opportunity as well a wonderful reunion.

Our hope is to continue to attract new members from the industry, and keep the dinner going for future generations.  The dinner is on a 1st come 1st served basis, but all members are simultaneously invited to buy tickets at the start of each year.
